Do you use airbrush?
We used to offer airbrush but have switched to traditional makeup in the last 4 years.
We know it’s a super popular request in the last few years, but we’ve seen few issues with it. From breaking of compressors, streaking of makeup, being used on the wrong skin type, mixing of colors improperly and smudging/running that is hard to touch up for pictures, we decided to stick with traditional makeup.
Our artists are extensively trained with skincare and making sure your skin looks like skin! We want to make you feel like a beautiful version of yourself, and feel we can do that with the correct skincare and traditional foundations.
Don’t get us wrong, there are some amazing airbrush makeup artists out there. We just don’t like to risk any of the above factors on our brides’ special day! We’ve had so many brides that are happy with traditional makeup and that’s the most important part. We feel we can give you the most natural look with the products and techniques we use.
How far will you travel?
Anywhere!
We get this question a lot, and most of our brides are in the Madison, Milwaukee, Wisconsin Dells area. But we have been all over the state of Wisconsin, as well as up to Upper Peninsula in Michigan!
We have travel fees outside of Madison, and can send more information about our travel policies. However, we really are happy to travel anywhere for our brides! Just ask!
Do I have to book both hair and makeup with you? What if I have my own stylist?
You definitely don’t have to book both with us! But one of our favorite things is being able work with you for your entire look, hair and makeup.
We definitely understand having a hair stylist or makeup artist that you know and are comfortable with for your wedding. We are happy to work out a schedule with them as long as we know ahead of time.
Please keep in mind if they’re a stylist or makeup artist that doesn’t typically do weddings, they may need extra time. Since our artists do many weddings every year, they have a lot of experience with tight timelines and onsite locations.
Let us know if you have any other specific questions about having another stylist there. We’re happy to work with you!
Do you have any service minimums?
We don’t have a certain number of services required. We feel that a bride getting ready without a bridal party is just as important as a bride with 10 bridesmaids!
We have a few requirements depending on travel location for bookings if you only have the bride getting services done. Please reach out to us for specifics!
If you decide you want more than one artist, we do usually ask you have at least 6-8 appointments. We completely understand if you’re crunched for time the morning of your wedding and need to add an artist for timing purposes. Please note, we do have a fee for additional artists, as seen on our pricing document.
If I don’t wear a lot of makeup, do I need a makeup artist?
We definitely recommend it! This is your big day, we want you feeling like yourself and looking amazing! Did you know half if not more of our brides say they don’t wear much if any makeup daily?
We love finding the perfect look for you, where you feel like yourself, but just a little more elegant! It’s your wedding day after all!
Your photographs are what you have to remember your wedding day, and our artists know how to make sure you look natural but amazing for your photographs!
Do you require a preview session?
Yes! Not just for you but for your artists!
We have a lot of people ask this and say they’re super laid back. Which we totally understand and love that! But these sessions are just as much for you as they are for your artist(s).
When our artists are working with you during your preview session, we’re constantly thinking of how to make it even better! We keep notes of what you like and what we can adjust for the day of the wedding.
It gives you a chance to see how the hair and makeup looks and feels. Pinterest can only show you inspiration on other people. But we like to remind our brides, it’s used for inspiration, not duplication. It’s different when you see it on yourself!
Our biggest goal is to make you happy and relaxed on your wedding day. The preview session gives you and your artist a chance to make those decisions ahead of time. That way you can sit back and let us work without having to think twice about your look, and know you’ll look beautiful!
If I book for the day of (preview session included), does that ensure I have the same Artist(s) both days?
Yes! *
As mentioned before, we love preview sessions for our artists as well as for you! It’s a chance for your artist to get to know you and the look you’re wanting. Therefore they will be there for the big day as well!
*Please know we book our artists for your preview and wedding session and do everything in our power to keep the same artist for you. Only in extreme circumstances would this ever change, and in those cases, we always have a back up plan for you!
What happens after booking?
We take care of everything!
We will be in touch to introduce you to your artist, get your trial scheduled. Then later we will be in touch to confirm services and get you a schedule for the day. We even have a handy document for you to see how we operate after you’ve booked with us!
You can download the details HERE!
When do my artist(s) show up on the morning of the wedding?
We take care of those details for you! About 2 months before the wedding we will get your final timeline for the day ( usually your wedding planner or photographer help decide this!). Once we know your timeline, and who’s getting services, we take care of the schedule!
We don’t want you to have to worry about those details! That’s what we’re here for!
What is a preview session?
A preview session is a way to see what your chosen look will look like for your wedding day. It’s a chance to take your inspiration photo and make adjustments to fit your personal style and look.
It’s not a session to try multiple different looks, but a chance to see your vision come to life.
It gives you a chance to see how the hair and makeup looks and feels. Pinterest can only show you inspiration on other people. But we like to remind our brides, it’s used for inspiration, not duplication. It’s different when you see it on yourself!

If I don’t like my skin, what can we do?
Everyone has something they don’t like. Sometimes it’s their skin texture, or blemishes.
We can make suggestions on skincare for you! We have an amazing line of skincare we work with, and would love to share it with you.
Skin prep makes the biggest difference in makeup applications. If you’re willing to do a few things before the wedding, and prep your skin more than just the day of, we can work on making your skin look better than ever!
You can find more information about our favorite skincare system HERE!
Can your artists recommend products for skin care, makeup and hair?
Along with skincare, our artists will happily share hair and makeup products that would work for you. We love helping brides find the right products for everyday life as well as the wedding day!
Do you work with brides from out of area?
All the time! We love working with out of town brides! Whether Wisconsin called you back for your wedding because you grew up here, went to college here, or it just means a lot to you or your fiancé, we love hearing the stories.
We love our state, the amazing things it has to offer and love sharing it with everyone!
I don’t live in the Madison area, how does a preview session work then?
We will be as flexible as possible when it comes to your preview session, and schedule it when you’re able to come to town. Whether it’s a month or two before your wedding, or the week of, we’re happy to work with you to make it work!
Typically our sessions are done on location as we don’t currently have a salon space. We can discuss options for a trial when you’re in the area! So no fear, we will figure something out!
When do you need to know how many services there will be for the day of the wedding?
We collect your final numbers of services 2 months before the wedding. That way your girls have time to decide after you show them our website and Instagram. We encourage sharing our work with them so they can see they’re in good hands!
How many artists do you send?
The number of artists we send, is based on who is available and how many services you need done. We ask for an estimate when you book, so we can tentatively decide if you’ll need any extra artists. We may ask for a commitment to the number of artists before that 2 month mark for final service confirmation.
Typically we send additional artists if you have more than 8-9 appointments (hair and makeup being separate appointments).
If you decide you want more than one artist, we do usually ask you have at least 6-8 appointments. We completely understand if you’re crunched for time the morning of your wedding and need to add an artist for timing purposes. Please note, we do have a fee for additional artists, as seen on our pricing document.
Ask for more details on your specific party if you’re unsure how it works! We’re happy to help!
